Salesforce enables you to enter as much data about your customers as you want, which makes it a great customer relationship management platform. That’s what it’s best known for. Among its many other capabilities, Salesforce also can help managers keep an eye on the accomplishments and activities of their employees — to use a common example, a sales team. The key is to set up robust Salesforce reports that give managers everything they need to see about their team’s progress and productivity at one quick glance.

Using these Salesforce reports, managers can spot trends, and get a better idea of the team’s performance. They can see if their team is performing all the activities they should be, how long they’re doing activities, and how those activities affect different metrics, like revenue.

(Keep in mind that your employees actually have to be using Salesforce to generate useful team activity reports. In fact, this is a great way to see who’s using the system and who isn’t, and take appropriate action.)

One caveat: It can be difficult to set up an effective Salesforce report. That’s where a CRM consultant like Cloud 9 Strategies can be a real help to an organization. We’ve developed all kinds of unique reports for clients in the business and nonprofit worlds. We can talk to your managers and find out all of the information they really want to see in their reports… and even open your eyes to report types you could never have imagined!

That’s our report to you. If you’d like to talk about reports with people who have extensive knowledge developing them — or would like us to develop some for your organization — let us know!
